AVCTORITAS

Mi scusi, quello là, ha visto? Trent’anni minimo, senza la condizionale. Circonlocuzione d’incapace dice il giudice; ma la macchina? Beh, per l’appalto truccato, l’avvocato raccomanda il patteggiamento. L’arma era dichiarata, ma smarrita da anni, e l’agente ferito è stato colto da raptus, sembra per una questione di scommesse clandestine. C’è di mezzo l’assessorato, un giro di milioni e quello lo hanno preso per un furto di 6€ al tabaccaio; pensa che aveva un tasso di tre volte superiore. Ora lo vogliono estradare, ma mi sa che gli daranno prima la semilibertà per abuso di farmaci, non sanno se uscirà dal coma… E il primario? Credo che sia indagato per occultamento di cadavere. Però mi ha detto che prima di avere il permesso per la veranda passeranno almeno sei mesi e quello avrà già fatto sparire tutto, o in un pilastro o con l’acido. Sai, c’è di mezzo l’inchiesta di aggiottaggio e l’udienza è stata ancora rimandata. Se ne riparla a primavera.

HISTORY 21 - 1419 The Great joke

To Alburnanne the fish who, on the first day of April, crushed the obstinate attempt of an assault to the city by enemy forces camouflaged to sow discord and confusion in the unwarlike populace with unfounded rumours on His Highness the Duke’s morality and by means of other most grievious whisperings that put Him in a corner, the wise creature, then corrected the truths and restored for the posterity the right story of the Man, His Higness Duke Filippo Maria, His court and those who followed it, to remember her noble deeds laid this stone here.

A lo pescio Alburnanna, che al primo di aprile sgominò il pervicace tentativo di assalto alla città di forze nemiche camuffate, per seminar scompiglio e zizzania nel volgo imbelle con voci prive de fondamenta su la moralità dell’illustrissimo duca suo et altre gravissime dicienze che lo ponean a mal partito. La sagace acquatica, radrizzate di poi le verità e restituita ai posteri la storia giusta de l’homo, Sua Altezza Serenissima Ducale Filippo Maria, la sua splendida corte e quanti ne seguorno le fila, vollero quinci rimembrarne le gesta et allo uopo posero.

HISTORY 19 - 1719 The time losses

To Perrovicomaria the steed, a quadruped of unquestionable virtue, which brought the city to safety against the useless time squandering of '17, part of the citizenry eternally grateful placed here.

Al destriero Perrovicomaria, quadrupede di indiscutibili virtù, che portò la città a salvamento dalle inutili perdite di tempo del ’17, parte della cittadinanza semper in temporis grata posit.

“Sir James Tiltanslant was the most unfortunate victim of the events I’m here not allowed to disclose if not in the least detailed fashion to you, so may history bear me testimony, I swear to be true.

Due to his excessively unbecoming addiction to speed he met his creator well before his time in a melodramatic accident which occurred whilst involved in some experiments with steam and bronze pipes he was attempting to carry out, to the dismay of his family and friends whom, alas to no avail, urged him repeatedly to come to his senses and become a lawyer instead. The power of steam was the means he thought of to fulfill his ambition to exceed the speed of birds to such an extent as doomed impossible by men of all sciences. The day came when, in front of a conspicuous community of professionals in the fields of mathematics, ballistics and physics, he set himself into an experiment so disturbing in terms of foolishness and utter lack of sensibility to all that’s scientific, to be ridiculous, if not for the seriousness of Sir James in his determination to pursue it.

HISTORY 16 - 1934 The great doze

In lasting memory of the unexpected doze that led to the sudden stoppage of every productive activity of the city that was promptly awaken and propelled to its natural fascist ardour by the famous arian rooster Fritzwald Bohmbieler during a visit of courtesy, the thankful citizenry and party officials laid.

A perenne memoria dell’inatteso coccolone che portò al subitaneo blocco di ogni attività produttiva della città, prontamente ridestata e propulsa al suo naturale fervore fascista dal celebre galletto ariano Fritzwaldo Bohmbieler in visita di cortesia, la cittadinanza e i gerarchi riconoscenti posero.
