FEAR of FLYING - 害怕飛翔

Each and everyone of us have our own fears. Some fear heights, others fear spiders, others fear corners, blank pages, high heels and tomatoes. Some fear flying; this is called aviophobia or aerophobia. It may sound funny, but it's a dramatic feeling to those who suffer it. Do you remember Mr.T in the '70s series 'The A Team'?
Probably some birds fear flying, too, why not? Their fear, though has another reason: even today, in many areas around the world, birds are hunted by the millions. Birds numbers have declined dramatically, together with biodiversity as a whole. Sparrows have totally disappeared from the skies in Milan; mornings and evenings are almost silent now.
STOP HUNTING!

A documentary on the Taiwanese Hakka minority and their culture; one week around the South Eastern plains of Taiwan, a wonderful experience with beautiful people in beautiful places. Thanks John, Tim, Sharon, 琇雯, Sophie and the rest of the crew and everyone I had the opportunity to meet.
This documentary was shot in September 2015 and it's the first on a series with other artists from Europe and elsewhere.

"My land - 我的土地", the painting made and inspired by my experience with the Hakka culture.
