25 APRILE a MILANO - LIBERATION DAY

Mentre ieri si celebrava il 25 aprile, giorno della liberazione dal nazi-fascismo, Milano comunque e' ancora in bilico e rimane chiusa per questa minaccia invisibile. Si nota pero' che le sbarre della gabbia che ci sta opprimendo si stanno assottigliando e la loro ombra alleggerendo di giorno in giorno.


While yesterday we were celebrating April 25, Liberation Day from Nazi-fascism, Milan is still in the balance and remains closed for Covid-19's invisible threat. 
Nevertheless we can see that the bars of the cage that's oppressing us are thinning and their shadow lightening day by day.

WHEN MILANO STOOD STILL

When the outbreak struck and containment measures were strictly adopted, some cruisers, including the Naviglio Princess, got caught in the lockdown with their heavy load of thousands of merry passengers. In order to keep the party going and entertain the unwilling prisoners, the ship has to keep her boilers on, spewing noxious fumes in the now crystal clear air.
The populace is now asking the regional government and city council to take bold steps to stop this environmental disaster. 
Scientists say that fine particles greatly increase the risk to get infected by Covid-19.

No smoking!
No Diesel!
No Great ships in Darsena (Milan harbour)!
More bikes on the streets!

Our freedom though, comes with an environmental cost which we have been trying to remove from our conscience for far too long. We are the only polluting species on this planet and we are still pretending it is not so.

Ye OLDE LADIES RIDE AGAIN!

As the economy is stalled because of the Covid-19 outbreak, there's not much money to fix trains; we all know new things are not as good as past ones and old steam trains mostly broke when you had to break them apart. Besides re-using them has the beautiful side effect of helping our administration in Lombardy bring back the warm and dusty atmosphere we so much enjoyed before the epidemic.
We are in good hands.
This picture has been taken yesterday, Leonardo da Vinci's birthday near the last operating railway crossing in Milano.
A near miss worth the risk I should say.

EASTER TIME in Via CONCHETTA

Springtime is time of renewal, isn't it. This is via Conchetta these Easter days.
Creativity is blooming now that everyone is constrained due to the Covid-19 outbreak. When all this will be over we shall not start again as nothing ever happened. For one thing, I think that something should be done with diesel cars. Now that air is so much cleaner, if just a diesel car passes, the air gets immediately awful. How could we stand it before? Do we want to breath those fumes again?

Hello and welcome to Unicorn Day 2020!
In order to get distracted from our forced anti-Covid-19 reclusion, it's nice to celebrate this yearly recurrence when we pretend to believe in something that's unbeliavable, yet is nice to fantasise about.

Actually this is a horse I painted in 2017, but it has now a streamlined horn which someone might take as a definite proof this is a real Unicorn Icon, thus worth worshipping.

This is a detail of a 1987 vinyl record cover I designed for a compilation of emerging bands from Milano, including 'Round Glasses', the band I used to play drums in in those past glorious days. The album whose title sounded like: "Hungry for fame" was never released, but it was nevertheless legendary.

We have to stay home. Kids have to stay home with us. These are very tough times for those who live in small nests, ehm houses. Creativity helps to a point, singing is fine. Rock may help, too, but what about neighbours?
