Il COLLEZIONISTA di MOSTRI - The MONSTER COLLECTOR II

 

I finally got my book from @Carthusiaedizioni. It's really beautiful.

Now that it's in my hands I can compare it with the mole of work that it required to become what it is.

Most people don't realise how much time and expertise is hidden behind a book cover. A book is the result of an astonishing amount of time and dedication by a multitude of people, in the first place the author who has to find the key to translate the story from an intuition into something that the audience must find worth reading and remembering; then the publisher who has to find the right illustrator (me), for the right story (Lodovica Cima's).

It's a long story, probably longer than the one written in this book.

Carthusia Edizioni has just published my new illustrated book 

'Il collezionista di mostri - the monster collector', 

a story by Lodovica Cima about Antonio Vallisneri, one of the Great minds that these past 8 centuries have made the Università di Padova one of the most respected and known science academies in Europe.

Thanks to Patrizia Zerbi for inviting me to work on this beautiful project and Silvia Marelli for all her tireless support. 

The author Lodovica Cima's playful and flowing writing style has been a pleasure to read and transform into images.
