FACEBOOK ARTCHALLENGE 2015 - DAY 2

The Artists Sefano Misesti and Yungyen Tsui who are also my friends have politely invited me to the Facebbok #ArtChallenge 2015.

Each artist has to publish three images a day for five days, suggesting also a new artist each day. My first suggestion was the famous Italian illustrator Costanza Favero; for Day 2 I have invited Walter Gropius!

For Day 2 I have chosen a few images from my 2013-2014 exhibitions. Characters in those paintings have surreptitiously come together in today's Facebook banner.

For Day 1 I have chosen a few images from my 2010-2011 exhibition 'Milano in Bilico', 'Milan on the Wobble', an ironic, surreal and poetic collection of stories on the City of Milan.

POSTCARDS - Minimum, secret art - IED 29.10.2014

A collective exhibition where IED students and artists have been invited to create illustrated postcards that will be sold at a fixed price of 50€ to raise money for scholarships for deserving young talents. The sale will take place on October 29 2014.

The ALMIGHTY MULTIOPTICAL ENTITY

The Almighty Multioptical Entity doesn't do anything other than watching and spying, but it's actual absence doesn't prevent it to rule by fear; so beware and behave, otherwise...

This image is included in the exhibition 'Rione Cassero... in Comics!', organised by the famous comics and cartoon artist Moreno Chiacchiera and displayed at Palazzo Gentili Spinola in Foligno 1-30 September 2014.

Moonbird -月亮鳥 (2014)

In the middle of the year

when everybody rests

It suddenly appears

like yesteryear and next.

We look upward in wonder

rejoice for its bright shine

as long as it stays yonder

we know it's yours and mine.

Whatever we may do,

wherever we might be

the good luck that it brings

is everyone's gift.

LADY O'HARE - 奧黑爾女士

2014 - Acrylic, golden enamel and oil on canvas 40x40cm (15.75x15.75")

Lady O'Hare was born in Ballyharry on the East coast of Ireland around 1440. She was an exuberant child and grew with a strong-minded and independent character that didn't fit well with the rigid structure of her clan. She was sent to Italy to learn some manners and travelled around Tuscany until she met the famous dancing master Guglielmo Ebreo da Pesaro (1420-1484) and settled with him in Milano in 1465 when he was put in charge of the celebrations for the wedding of the Duke of Bari with Eleonora d'Aragona. She called her first octuplets Coinín Athbheochan I, Coinín Athbheochan II, Coinín Athbheochan III, Coinín Athbheochana I, Coinín Athbheochan IV, Coinín Athbheochana II, Coinín Athbheochan V, Coinín Athbheochana III.

* Coinín Athbheochan means 'Renaissance Rabbit' in Gaelic.

FIREBIRD - 火鳥

As hard as it is to find, as sure as it is for one to be mesmerised upon finding it.

It likes to be sought for, but only few are allowed the privilege to see it and just with the corner of one's eye.

This painting is now on display at my exhibition 'WHERE DO I DREAM?' 在哪兒作夢? (一場充滿問號的表演) which opened on 19 July at 打開盒子創藝 Open Box Art Gallery in Taichung, Taiwan. The show will stay on until August 31.
