RED PALOMO

My new painting "Red Palomo"

Palomo was Simon Bolivar's horse.

Red Palomo was his distant cousin who refused to be tamed and ran away on the Colombian hills never to be caught again. He followed his cousin from a distance till Palomo died for exhaustion in the Hacienda Mulaló and promised to fulfill his deathwish which he promptly forgot and carried on happily ever after.

This paintng will be displayed in my new exhibition 'Coincidences' in Taichung, Taiwan this coming May. News will follow.

About

I am an artist, illustrator and designer living and working in Milan and Taiwan. Studies: Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and Art Center College of Design - Pasadena, California. I've been working in the fields of advertising and editorial illustration for many years in both Italy and Taiwan. My books have been published in Taiwan, USA, Korea, Japan, Switzerland, Israel, Brasil, China and Italy. Among my clients are also a few international NGOs such as WWF, Emergency, the Jane Goodall Institute - Taiwan, The United Euro Bridge – UK, FuBon Art Foundation - Taiwan, AIL - Italian Leukemia Association, LILA - Italian AIDS Association and others. Member of the Italian Illustrators Association's Board since 1992 Member of the EIF - European Illustrators Forum - Board since 2004 Teacher of Conceptual Illustration at Milano’s IED – European Design Institute since 2004 I like to use my hands ad experiment with different media, so my techniques range from traditional sketching, to acrylic and oil on canvas, but also to digital, occasionally mixing techniques; with sculpting I enjoy working with clay, wood and other materials.
