HISTORY XVI - 1934 IL GRANDE COCCOLONE - The GREAT DOZE

 
A perenne memoria dell’inatteso coccolone che portò al subitaneo blocco di ogni attività produttiva della città, prontamente ridestata e propulsa al suo naturale fervore fascista dal celebre galletto ariano Fritzwaldo Bohmbieler in visita di cortesia, la cittadinanza e i gerarchi riconoscenti posero.

In lasting memory of the unexpected doze that led to the sudden stoppage of any productive activity of the city that was promptly awaken and propelled to its natural fascist ardour by the famous arian rooster Fritzwald Bohmbieler during a courtesy visit, the thankful citizenry and party officials laid.

Poesia attribuita a Corrado Govoni (1884-1965) dal suo portinaio, ma dal poeta veementemente e ripetutamente smentito.


Mechanical cranking
The fair oblivion
in cloudy pillows of dreams
No coffee spur?
just Lethe and sky;
Mmmmh
A form unstill
with Majestic stroll
Sings the siren
Moves all souls
Kick-starts the unhoned mob
on they are
and grind again
The crank, the lever
and blood flows twice.

A poem ascribed to Ezra Pound (1885-1972) by the entomologist Louis Wright Roach, but vehemently and repeatedly denied by the poet himself.
